GUIDE FOR MONITORING THE UN CONVENTION ON THE RIGHTS OF THE CHILD IN THE PHILIPPINES

The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UN CRC) is an international human rights treaty that guarantees the fundamental rights and freedoms of all children. It was unanimously adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on November 20, 1989, and entered into force on September 2, 1990. The Philippines signed the UN CRC on January 26, 1990, making it the 109th country to sign the Convention. It was ratified by the Philippine Senate on August 21, 1990.
